Altek Corporation launches industrial security camera reference design using the Qualcomm Vision Intelligence Platform
Altek Corporation, a Taiwan intelligent vision solution provider, today released its industrial security camera reference design, the IPC 603, using the Qualcomm® Vision Intelligence 300 Platform based on the Qualcomm® QCS603 system-on-chip (SoC). Taking advantage of the advanced ISP and AI capabilities of the Qualcomm Vision Intelligence Platform, Altek delivers a customized IP camera solution to help developers and manufacturers to quickly develop camera and AI-based solutions for a wide range of IoT applications, such as commercial and home surveillance cameras, robots and more.
The IPC603 Reference design provides an optimized engineering bill of materials (eBOM) and performance to support fast time-to-commercialization. Equipped with a c-mount lens, IMX334 sensor, 2GB LPDDR4x memory, support for power-over-Ethernet (PoE), and audio in/out, the reference design serves as a great proof of concept, development or launch platform for smart camera applications. The IPC603 supports a broad set of features on both Linux and Android operating systems.
The Qualcomm Vision Intelligence Platform features the Company’s first family of SoCs purpose-built for the IoT using advanced 10nm FinFET process technology. The QCS603 SoC is engineered to deliver powerful computing for on-device camera processing and machine learning, with exceptional power and thermal efficiency, across a wide range of IoT applications. The SoC integrates Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.’s most advanced image signal processor (ISP) to date and the Qualcomm® Artificial Intelligence (AI) Engine, along with a heterogeneous compute architecture including a cutting-edge ARM-based multicore CPU, vector processor and GPU. The Qualcomm Vision Intelligence Platform also includes Qualcomm Technologies’ advanced camera processing software, machine learning and computer vision software development kits (SDKs), as well as proven Qualcomm Technologies’ 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and security technologies.
Altek has been developing in the digital image processing field over 20 years and has become a full-range vision intelligence solution provider. In addition to existing imaging products provided by ODM, Altek also provides 3D sensing depth chips, algorithms, image IP licenses, and dual-lens camera modules.
